Meet the Doctors

    Laura Skaates

    Dr. Laura Skaates attended The Ohio State University, where in 1990, she received a degree in Exercise Physiology.   In 1997, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic Universityin Atlanta, Georgia.  While a student at LifeUniversity, Dr. Skaates was employed as a fitness trainer and exercise physiologist performing fitness tests and assisting with cardiac stress tests. 

    After spending approximately six months gaining valuable experience doing relief chiropractic work, she decided to start her own private practice. Skaates Family Chiropractic was founded in 1997, just half mile south of downtown Worthington.  In the fall of 2010 Dr. Skaates moved to Westerville to begin serving patients in her new Wellness Center which provides  chiropractic care, active rehabilitation, therapy, yoga, wellness coaching, custom made orthotics, and corporate education.

    Dr. Skaates constantly strives to improve and expand upon her knowledge in the field of chiropractic and wellness care.  She has completed extensive post-graduate studies with emphasis on the Impulse and Activator adjusting methods and has a passion for pediatrics, pregnancy and families.

    A firm believer in the incredible power of the human body and the importance of the preservation of health and pain-free living, Dr. Skaates is very passionate and excited about providing safe, effective, healing results.

    Dr. Skaates and her husband, Calvin, have 3 children - Ethan, Olivia and Christopher.  

    Working along side and following Dr. Skaates' 'whole person approach' when taking care of patients are her Associates, Dr. Alexandra Boggs,  Dr. Nicole Short and Dr. Matt Maley.  By combining the very best hands-on-technique, state of the art physiotherapy procedures, and providing the newest and best natural vitamins and mineral supplements on the market today, all four Doctors are able to help you accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.

    Dr. Boggs received her undergraduate degree from Miami University and graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 2014.  Dr. Short received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and graduated from Logan University, College of Chiropractic  in 2017.  Dr. Maley received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2017.
